2025 World Humanoid Robot Games Is Grandly Inaugurated, and BSAM Jointly Offers "a Top-grade Feast of Science and Technology"
2025-08-15

On August 14, 2025, hosted by People's Government of Beijing Municipality, China Media Group, World Robot Cooperation Organization and RoboCup Asia-Pacific Confederation Board of Trustees and jointly organized by Beijing State-Owned Assets Management Co., Ltd (BSAM) and other entities, 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games brilliantly kicks off at National Speed Skating Oval (also known as "Ice Ribbon").

Injecting core impetus into the Games from preparatory work to industrial agglomeration

The 1st World Humanoid Robot Games commences with great fanfare, epitomizing compelling achievements of BSAM people with strong sense of responsibility and wholehearted devotion. BSAM places top priority to the successful arrangements for the 2025 Games. Fully leveraging its expertise in the Olympic venue management and professional operation of major domestic and international events, BSAM meticulously plans and coordinates united efforts of Beijing Beiao Group, National Speed Skating Oval and National Stadium Co., Ltd. Comprehensive preparations are made in all aspects, including scenario design, venue construction and renovation, competition organization, reception, registration, opening and closing ceremonies, sports display planning and execution, media operations, ticket sales, spectator services, logistics and security.

To embrace complete success of the Games, BSAM sets up a dedicated task force, mobilizes the headquarters cadres and employees, and transfers over 600 backbone employees to various service support teams, exemplifying "BSAM Call to Action" in a true sense. Throughout the preparation phase, team members work overtime diligently, and they are engaged workaholics until late night on the eve of the Games. Their unwavering commitment and pursuit of excellence strongly facilitate the smooth fulfillment of all preparatory tasks, contributing to the success and safety of the Games from beginning to end.

As a global partner of the 2025 Games, BSAM not only provides financial sponsorship, but also adequately integrates resources and engages with various project stakeholders and investors. 40 prominent domestic investment institutions are attracted to watch the Games on site. BSAM affords valuable networking opportunities among investors, technical teams, and manufacturers.

Forging a new robot competition event from scratch

Beijing Beiao Group, a cultural and sports enterprise under BSAM with extensive experience in serving the Olympic and Paralympic Games, also operates the 2025 Games and takes responsibility for event operations and market development. When designing the competition framework and rules, Beijing Beiao Group collaborates with information technology and sports authorities, experts in sports economics, humanoid robot manufacturers and technical professionals to conduct multiple-party surveys and argumentations, with full considerations to the current technological advancements, future application prospects, as well as technological characteristics, competition fairness and entertainment value. Ultimately, 21 core events across three categories are concurrently held during the 2005 Games—Competition Events, Exhibition Events and Scenario-based Events—along with five peripheral events, such as badminton, basketball and table tennis events. These events not only showcase the stability and flexibility of the robots in high-speed movements and precise movements and smooth rhythms in artistic performances, but also demonstrate practicality and intelligent decision-making capabilities in real working environments.

Beijing Beiao Group makes extensive outreach to industrial organizations, universities and academic institutions at home and abroad. As a result, over 500 robots join the Games, representing 280 teams and 127 brands from 16 countries. Participating teams cover 70%-80% of the global robot industry chain, including many of the world's top 50 robot enterprises. Such participation breadth and industrial visibility set new benchmarks for similar events.

Competition venues are especially challenging. To meet the temperature and humidity requirements for robot operation and ensure robot movement safety, Beijing Beiao Group, in cooperation with National Speed Skating Oval, takes ice-melting measures at the venues, installs dehumidification equipment, and lays fireproof floor mats, polyethylene shock-absorbing plates and track flooring. These efforts provide robots with competition surfaces with both friction control and shock absorption properties.

To improve spectating experience, eight large viewing screens are installed at the top of the inner field of National Speed Skating Oval so that all spectators can watch the competitions from multiple angles. In consideration of the energy replenishment needs of robots, charging facilities are available in five designated areas within the training zone, ensuring both safety and fulfillment of diverse power supply needs.

In terms of ticket sales, with professional planning and operational capabilities, National Stadium Co., Ltd, official ticketing service provider of the 2025 Games, becomes a pivotal hub to connect the Games with spectators. According to the unique characteristics of this grand event, ticketing team meticulously develops comprehensive ticketing strategy and establishes diversified pricing system—covering standard tickets, family packages, and other options—to cater to varied needs of different types of spectators. “Chao Piao Sai Yan”, a ticketing platform run by National Stadium, serves as the primary ticketing agent and works with other major ticketing platforms (such as Damai and Maoyan) to ensure full-channel distribution. A dedicated bilingual customer service hotline is put into service. Furthermore, ticketing team also launches promotional campaigns across multiple new media platforms and organizes offline robot performances and interactive experiences at Olympic Forest Park and other places, arousing widespread public enthusiasm and a surge in ticket purchases for the Games.

In terms of event command system, CapInfo Company Ltd, a subsidiary of BSAM, furnishes CapInfo Cloud Infrastructure Platform to provide technical support across the entire chain of cloud, network and computing, encompassing foundational general-purpose and intelligent computing capabilities, efficient network transmission and real-time data processing.

Maximizing the benefits of the Winter Olympics legacy and developing "Ice Ribbon" into a robot industry cluster

It is no coincidence for the 2025 Games to be held at National Speed Skating Oval. Following the conclusion of the Winter Olympics, BSAM actively explores ways to maximize the long-term value of such legacy across its Olympic venues. National Speed Skating Oval is developing towards an integrated vision of "sports + sci-tech + nature + life". High-profile science and technology education events, such as "Ice Ribbon International Robot Month", have garnered significant public and professional attention.

Drawing upon rich experience in operating the venues of the Summer and Winter Olympics, BSAM makes overall planning for Beijing Beiao Group and National Speed Skating Oval. Based on detailed assessment of the internal and external spatial layout of the venues, three new key facilities have been established, namely, "Panda Eye" core competition and training base, a football training base, and a robot-themed camp. Additionally, "Beijing Humanoid Robot Competition and Training Base" has been built, enhancing magnet effect to bring together the worldwide innovation resources in the field of humanoid robot.

"Panda Eye" stands in the west square of "Ice Ribbon" and serves as core zone of the world's first humanoid robot competition and training base. Constructed with advanced ETFE materials, "Panda Eye" features a fully prefabricated design and incorporates recyclable components, highlighting the principles of green development. The internal temperature, humidity and lighting can be precisely controlled in order to provide the best operational conditions for robots. "Panda Eye" will function as both a training ground for 5v5 Robot Football Match and competition venue for some events during the 2025 Games.

Located on the southwest side of "Ice Ribbon", ROBOLAND is designed to emphasize the core idea of "human-machine integration". The training area includes designated spaces for robot charging, training and team member debugging and communication, helping competition teams to make efficient preparations. Additionally, the public exhibition and leisure area allows visitors to enjoy human-machine interaction firsthand.

Furthermore, the football training base in the south square of "Ice Ribbon" will be utilized for the testing of new robotic products and the verification of emerging technologies.

In future, "Beijing Humanoid Robot Competition and Training Base" will vigorously emerge as a comprehensive platform for exchanges and interactions among investors, technology enterprises and insiders. It will also showcase science and technology achievements and serve as an experiential and exploratory space for youth engagement. It is expected to constantly stimulate the vitality of science and technology innovation, continuously promote the development of robot industry, and pave the way for the deep integration of robots with human life.
